About The Show
About Let's Grab a Booth
Drinks are where we start. Great conversation is where we go. Let’s Grab a Booth brings interesting people behind the bar to make a drink, then into the booth for honest, engaging conversations worth staying for.
HOW IT STARTED
A Better Conversation Starts With Something in Common
Let’s Grab a Booth was built around a simple idea; conversations feel different when they begin naturally. A cocktail gives people something to make together, something to talk about, and a reason to settle in. From there, the show moves beyond the drink and into the stories, experiences, and moments that make each guest worth getting to know.
HOW IT WORKS
From the Bar to the Booth
Every episode begins behind the bar, where the guest learns to make a cocktail or mocktail alongside the host. Then we take those drinks to the booth, where the recipe gives way to conversation. It’s a simple format designed to let people settle in, open up, and share the stories that don’t always come out in a traditional interview.
MEET THE TEAM
The People Behind Let's Grab a Booth
Let’s Grab a Booth is built by a small team with a shared love of storytelling, hospitality, and conversations that feel real. Each person brings a different perspective to the show, from the bar to the booth and everything behind the scenes.
Vance Daniels
Co-Creator & Host
Vance Daniels is the host and co-creator of Let’s Grab a Booth, a longtime bartender and hospitality professional who owns and operates several bars—and generally tries not to embarrass his dog.
Before making the bar world his profession, Vance spent years performing in theatre, with a little television and film along the way, while continuing to bartend and eventually manage bars. Somewhere in there, he realized his love of hospitality, cocktails and the people who gather around them could actually become a career.
According to Vance, his involvement with Let’s Grab a Booth began when his longtime friend and former coworker Markus Taylor—who is considerably bigger than him—said they were doing it.
What keeps him doing it is the belief at the heart of the show: everyone has a story. Bars bring together people with completely different jobs, backgrounds and lives, and the show gives Vance the chance to learn about them over a drink. Occasionally those drinks happen in the morning because of the production schedule, which he considers perfectly acceptable because it’s technically work. “It’s like the airport in that sense.”
Vance recently opened another bar in Raleigh, North Carolina, has never been the subject of an episode of American Greed, and remains an enthusiastic but terrible dancer. He was also once cursed by a woman in Bucharest.
He does not believe it’s contagious.
Markus Taylor
Co-Creator & Producer
Markus Taylor is the co-creator and producer of Let’s Grab a Booth. With nearly 30 years in hospitality, much of it spent behind the bar, Markus has built a career around people, conversation and the stories that emerge when you put the two together.
Bartending is only one of the many hats he’s worn. Markus has served in the military, worked as a personal assistant, spent more than a decade as an actor, and acted in and produced plays and independent films. Those different experiences have introduced him to people from all walks of life—and helped shape his belief that everyone has a story worth hearing.
Let’s Grab a Booth grew out of Markus wanting to create something with longtime friend and former coworker Vance Daniels. Eventually, he decided it was time to stop talking about it and make something happen. Or, as Markus puts it, he basically forced Vance to do it.
That persistence defines Markus as a producer: he makes sure things get done. It might take a while and it might not happen exactly as planned, but it will get done.
Away from work, Markus is silly, goofy and adventurous. He loves traveling, meeting new people and seeking out new experiences—an outlook that also inspired his upcoming travel project, Going Anyway.
James Mulcock
Producer & Director
James is a producer and director of Let’s Grab a Booth and a longtime documentary producer and writer whose career has been built around finding stories in real people.
For 15 years, James was a producer on CNBC’s long-running documentary series American Greed, conducting interviews, researching stories and turning real-life experiences into compelling television. That background made him a natural fit for a show built around conversation—even if James remembers joining somewhat differently: “My silly friend Vance wanted another producer, so he dragged me into it. I got lucky.”
What James loves about Let’s Grab a Booth is the idea that you can walk into a bar and meet almost anyone. Every person has a different job, a different life and a different story to tell. Behind the scenes, he brings decades of interviewing and documentary storytelling experience, along with an instinct for finding the story inside a conversation.
Outside of work, James somehow has friends scattered all across the country.
Anything more personal than that?
According to James: “Is this a dating app? No one should know anything about me.”
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Everyone Has a Story Worth Staying For
